Kicking off the celebrations

Hi all,

Welcome to my blog! For the next six months or so this is the place to find all the details of my trip to Europe - illustrating and explaining my adventures, the people I meet, the sights i see, and everything else along the way. I hope through my experiences you are inspired and motivated to do what you are really passionate about, to embrace wherever you may be in the world and with whom and to remember that the world is truly a beautiful place.

Prior to a big trip such as mine, we all agree that it is mandatory to throw a big party for your friends and family to say goodbye. In addition it is mandatory to throw a party for a milestone birthday, such as your 21st. Falling under both these categories, the pressure was on to throw a mighty fine party!!! So on the 27th June 2009, my house was filled with mulled wine, Swedish-inspired food, an amazing jazz band "Eclectic Groove", two fun bartenders, Boxer Ed - the sweetest security guard you will ever meet, a "Dolly Varden" cake and about 200 incredible guests. The speeches were both hilarious and heart-felt and introduced well by the gorgeous MC and great friend of mine Alice Gallagher. Thanks to Phil, one of my best mates who is currently overseas, for sending me your speech AFTER the 21st!! Great timing! Follow this link for all the photos!
THANKS for those of you who attended and for making it SUCH a fun night! It was so special! It was neat to see you all before the big trip! You mean so much to me. For those of you I didn't get to see I hope you are all well also.
