Happy easter to you all!
I am currently in Valencia, Spain with my two good old sailing friends Matt & Max following a really cool week with another NZer James Hodges.
After completing two of my courses a fortnight ago which involved a lot of last minute essay writing and an exam, I headed straight up to Stockholm.
One of the reasons for my trip was to attend the Christian Conference Tro och Vetenskap (Faith and Science) of which my friends Johanna and Sebastian organised. It was amazing! John Lennox, a well known Mathematician scholar and teacher from Oxford University was a key speaker - I have so much respect for this man! Check out his website and take a look at his debates, particularly against Richard Dawkins online.
Following a weekend of great speakers, debates and intellectual thought, I took everything in with a good dose of time in Slussen, one of my favourite spots in Stockholm. Johanna and Sebastian, being Stockholmers and Slussen locals took me around the place, to great places to eat and shop which was fun. Also met up with my old corridor mate Håkan at one of the cool local bars which was a treat, plus with some other exchange student friends from Canada Jason & Grace. Love the area so much!
A very good friend of mine from NZ, James Hodges, who has now got a sweet job in London as a corporate event organiser, flew over for the weekend. So fun to see him at the Stockholm Central Station - Im sure the staff at the BK were a bit confused at the excitement! The weekend was spent hanging out with him and those we were staying with, one of whom I knew from NZ - Krystal. Was a funny mix of Kiwi-ness and Swedish-ness, celebrating Easter Swedish style in terms of food and looking around Stockholm, yet joking about the nature of NZers every two seconds. Flight of the Concords, Dawn Rade, TV commercials such as those by Fruju, Toyota, Mitre Ten, L&P and the like were top favourites! Such a laugh!
James & myself headed down to Lund where we continued the Swedish streak by going to none other than IKEA & a Swedish sauna over the water in Malmö (where you are required to be NAKED haha!) with some of my other friends & then later that night with a movie Trainspotting (not recommended)! Upon arrival to my corridor later that night, we were both greeted by my crazy corridor mates, particularly Elsa who just couldnt contain her excitement about seeing me. James was a bit overwhelmed hah!
Next day Copenhagen was on the cards which was mint & then our goodbyes - James flying back to London & myself to Valencia. AND, here I am.
